As proposed in the 2018 Quality Payment Program proposed rule, solo practitioners and groups can choose to participate in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) as a virtual group for the 2018 performance period.
By Brandy Dehaven – Previously, any eligible clinician without CEMRT could receive reweighting of the ACI performance category, but as of October 1, 2017, clinicians will have to prove that their reasons for not having CEMRT are good enough to receive a hardship exception.
