NeHC Hosts Webinar Series on Transforming Care through Health IT

Implementing Health IT, Changing Behavior, Transforming Healthcare

The National eHealth Collaborative (NeHC) is a public-private partnership that enables secure and interoperable nationwide health information exchange to advance health and improve health care. NeHC was established through a grant from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) to build on the accomplishments of the American Health Information Community (AHIC), a federal advisory committee to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) until 2008, and is led by some of the nation’s most respected thought leaders in healthcare and health IT.

NeHC is hosting a free event tomorrow, from 3 – 4 pm ET.  Below are the details to attend.

Webinar Overview: Thanks to HITECH meaningful use incentives and the need to leverage technology to improve healthcare quality and cost performance, hospitals, health systems, physician practices and others across the U.S. have been implementing health IT at accelerating rates. However, health IT is necessary but not sufficient to realize the healthcare transformation we all know is needed. Achieving the triple aim requires significant and sustained change management and engagement among all healthcare stakeholders.

This webinar, which will launch a new series, will feature former Principal Deputy National Coordinator David Muntz, now the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President for GetWellNetwork, and Bill Spooner, CIO of Sharp HealthCare, both top executives with experience leading technology implementation and change management. These leaders will discuss what it takes to create cultural and behavioral change among providers and other team members and how to make progress toward a fully engaged ecosystem that is patient, family and caregiver centered. These executives will share what they have learned from their experience in the trenches, including insights on why these goals are so important, how to leverage tools and resources to overcome challenges and the additional work that is needed to realize the full potential of healthcare transformation.

This webinar will be recorded. Recordings of past webinars can be found in the NeHC Resource Center.
