Breast Cancer Awareness Apps

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we would be amiss not to at least incorporate it in our news. We use this month as an opportunity for health care professionals to share information about breast cancer and provide access to preventive services. It is a collaboration of national public service organizations, professional medical associations, and government agencies working together to promote breast cancer awareness, share information on the disease, and provide greater access to services.

Here are Apps to check out this month and share information on breast cancer.

I LOVE Boobies – This app was developed by the Keep A Breast Foundation and provides information on the foundation as well as information on how to perform and what to look for in a breast self-exam. You can also set up automatic reminders for a monthly self breast exam. Get more information on this app.

Breast Cancer: Beyond The Shock – This app was developed by the National Breast Cancer Foundation and is a comprehensive online guide to understanding breast cancer. It is a resource for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, a place for loved ones to gain a better understanding of the disease, and a tool for doctors to share information. Breast Cancer Glossary – This app was developed by Look It Up 4 Me Inc. Your best protection against losses due to lack of knowledge is education – and references. This glossary will serve you as a reference. You can also use it to educate yourself. Get more information on this app.
