ONC seeks comments on Standards and Interoperability Framework initiatives by December 23, 2010. Read the FACA Blog post by Jonathan Perlin MD and John Halamka MD who are the Chair Co-Chairs for the HIT Standards Committee. They state the objective of the Standards and Interoperability Framework is “to create a robust, repeatable process that will enable ONC to execute on initiatives that will help improve interoperability and adoption of standards and health information technology.” They are looking for thoughts and comments on the Framework to help further development and initiatives. Over in the Policy Committee the Quality Measures Workgroup seeks comments on clinical quality measures concepts for Stage 2 and Stage 3 Meaningful Use by December 23, 2010. This Workgroup is currently working on initial recommendations on quality measure prioritization and the quality measure convergence process pertaining to measure gaps and opportunities for Stage 2 Meaningful Use. Read the FACA Blog post by David Lansky Chair of the Quality Measures Workgroup. The workgroup has revised and consolidated the current measure concepts into 5 criteria – HIT-sensitive, Parsimonious, Demonstrates preventable burden, Assesses health risk status and outcomes, Longitudinal.
