An advisory panel of the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) announced it is seeking comments from the public on the initial round of recommended objectives for Stage 2 Meaningful Use. It is anticipated the ONC will publish the document in the Federal Register today.

Once published in the Federal Registry, the public will then have 45 days following publication to comment. In making the announcement, the ONC said the proposed recommendations will let vendors know of potential new EHR functionalities to get a head start on development. The proposed recommendations also look to increase the threshold for some objectives from stage 1 including CPOE (from 30% to 60%.)
