House panel hearing on Meaningful Use


The House Science and Technology Committee’s Technology and Innovation Subcommittee will conduct a hearing this Thursday the 30th on Standards for Health IT: Meaningful Use and Beyond. The purpose will be to hear testimony on the new rules from CMS on meaningful use, incentive programs, and EHR adoption. Witnesses scheduled to speak are:

  • Dr. David Blumenthal – National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, Office of the National Coordinator
    U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
  • Ms. Kathleen M. Roberts – Associate Director for Federal and Industrial Relations, Information Technology Laboratory Office
    National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
  • Ms. Joyce Sensmeier – Vice President, Informatics
    Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)
  • Ms. Deven McGraw – Director of the Health Privacy Project, Center for Democracy and Technology
