Episode NOW on Demand

They have designed a “smart” toilet that captures waste products automatically with no requirement for the user to do anything different. Once you have this sample there are multiple capabilities that they have managed to build into the unit that will allow for the detection of multiple chronic disease killers such as Diabetes, Hypertension and kidney disease as well as some basic health challenges such as dehydration on an ongoing basis.

With analytics and an AI engine offering immediate feedback the potential to head off diseases before they occur using entirely passive acquisition fo data is exciting.

With the current focus on the COVID19 pandemic sweeping the world, this technology offers a way to test individuals easily and with little risk to health care workers by analyzing urine for markers for SARS-CoV-2 virus in a controlled and safe setting.

Listen in to hear about the journey to develop the system, the existing capabilities and the exciting potential for detecting virus that was proved out for the original SARS outbreak.
