The Waiting Room week of 7/26/09

This week the Health IT front will pale in comparison to what everyone will really be watching. Will Pelosi take her Health Care Reform bill to the floor? She has stated, “when I take this bill to the floor, it will win.” This will be a good week for the bloggers. There has even been some talk already about the effect of the Health Care Reform bill on the HITECH Act. Aren’t they from the same people? We can only wait and see along with everyone else.

On the Conference front, The Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) Annual Convention and Expo is in Nashville, July 29-August 1. What does this strong push for EHR adoption mean to you as an MT or editor? What skills and credentials will you need in this evolving technology-driven picture? Helping to position documentation professionals for relevance and impact in the future of healthcare delivery will be the focus of this year’s convention.
