eConsult Solution Company AristaMD Adds Ascension Ventures and .406 Ventures to Investment Syndicate, Completing Its $24 Million Series B Financing
AristaMD (@Arista_MD), a digital health company that provides proprietary eConsult solutions that connect primary care providers (PCPs) with timely, documented specialist insights, announced investments from Ascension Ventures, a strategic healthcare venture firm. These investments top off the company’s Series B funding round, which was co-led by Cigna Ventures and MemorialCare Innovation Fund, at $24 million. The new capital will be used to accelerate commercial growth as well as continue the expansion of its proprietary eConsult platform supporting payors and health systems across the country.

Spanberger, Johnson Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Fund FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Program, Continue Delivery of Critical Healthcare Services to Rural Communities
U.S. Representatives Abigail Spanberger (D-VA-07) and Dusty Johnson (R-SD-AL) led the introduction of bipartisan legislation to maintain critical telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic and provide much-needed funding to the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) COVID-19 Telehealth Program.

Beyond COVID-19: Policy Recommendations to Strengthen and Improve Telehealth Services
COVID-19 brought with it an explosion in telehealth use. However, even before the coronavirus, telehealth was growing. In fact, a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that telemedicine visits increased at an average compound growth rate of 52% per year from 2005 to 2014. AHIP offers policy recommendations that would help remove barriers to telehealth implementation and strengthen and improve telehealth services.

Defining the industry according to the AAFP
