schiex-logo-orangeSouth Carolina Health Information Exchange (SCHIEx)

South Carolina Health Information Exchange is an innovative statewide information highway that allows participating health care providers to view a patient’s medical history, including medications, diagnoses and procedures. It is not a secure network where providers use certified technology to share the information they need for better outcomes.

New CEO Announcement – South Carolina Health Information Partners (SC-HIP) recently announced that Wyman F. Bowers has been named the first-ever chief executive officer of SCHIEx. Mr. Bowers is the former Chief Operating Officer for Midlands Orthopedics, P.A. Before that, he was the Associate General Counsel for the South Carolina Medical Association. He has both a Juris Doctor degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Carolina.

Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN)

MI-MiHIN-200The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (#MiHIN) is Michigan’s initiative to continuously improve health care quality, efficiency, and patient safety by promoting secure, electronic exchange of health information through the MiHIN Health Information Services Cloud (HISC). MiHIN represents a growing network of public and private organizations working to overcome data sharing barriers, reduce costs, and ultimately advance the health of Michigan’s population.

MiHIN Announces Addition of Dr. Gregory Forzley to Board – Dr. Gregory Forzley, who currently serves as a director on the boards of the Michigan Peer Review Organization (MPRO) and Great Lakes Health Connect (as vice-chair), recently joined the MiHIN Board of Directors. MiHIN is pleased with the appointment as Dr. Forzley brings years of leadership in health information technology.

GA_DCH_Branding_JW4Georgia Health Information Network (GaHIN)

Georgia Health Information Network (@GeorgiaHIE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a healthier Georgia by facilitating the use and secure exchange of electronic health information so providers have the information they need at the point of care. GaHIN’s two products, GeorgiaDirect and Georgia ConnectedCare, connect providers statewide and nationally and are free for credentialed, authorized Georgia users.

Georgia Health Information Network (GAHIN) Top Winner At Truven Health 2016 Advantage Award –
Georgia Health Information Network recently received two awards from Truven: the prestigious Truven Health Advantage Award for Overall Achievement as well as a Truven Health Advantage Award for Strategy and Growth. The Truven Health Advantage Award program recognizes organizations in two categories – Provider and Payer – that have achieved outstanding results in building greater value in the healthcare system. GaHIN was recognized for creating a “network of networks” wherein patient information remains with the treating provider and flows only when there is authorization.

Pennsylvania eHealth Partnership Authority

PAeHealth-200The Pennsylvania eHealth Partnership Authority (@PAeHealth) works to improve healthcare delivery and healthcare outcomes in Pennsylvania by enabling the secure exchange of electronic health information (eHIE).

DHS Adds Mount Nittany Exchange to the PA Patient & Provider Network; DHS Continues Commitment to Improve Access to High-Quality Services – The Department of Human Services’ (DHS) eHealth Partnership program recently announced that Mount Nittany Exchange (MNX) is now connected to the PA Patient & Provider Network (P3N), marking a significant milestone in the statewide health information exchange. MNX is one of five active health information organizations (HIO) in Pennsylvania. Health care providers participating with MNX can now securely access patient clinical data stored with providers elsewhere on the P3N network.

NY-SHINY-200New York -Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY)

The SHIN-NY is the only HIE that provides universal access regardless of network or EHR system. New York State has made a significant investment in the SHIN-NY and in 2016 they set a goal of connecting 100% of the PPS across the state to the SHIN-NY. The eight RHIOs that make up the SHIN-NY are working directly with the PPS organizations to meet their needs.

Over 8.8 Million New Yorkers Have Given Consent to Healthcare Professionals to Allow Access of Healthcare Records – The New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) recently announced that the SHIN-NY holds records for over 40 million patients, processes over 2.8 million transactions a month, and has over 62,000 users. The milestone comes 10 months after the SHIN-NY launched statewide patient record look up (sPRL), which took five years to develop.
