Join SHIEC During Their March Madness Special

California – Manifest Medex

Manifest MedEx is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health information exchanges (HIEs), combining 11.7 million claims records from Blue Shield of California and Anthem Blue Cross and 5 million clinical patient records from 150 participating partners. Manifest MedEx supports physicians, nurses, hospitals and health plans in sharing critical health information to ensure that patients receive the safest, highest-quality care possible. The California Integrated Data Exchange and Inland Empire Health Information Exchange merged to create Manifest Medex.

California’s Health Data Network Celebrates Dr. Gilbert’s New Role with DHCS – Manifest MedEx applauds Governor Gavin Newsom’s appointment of Bradley P. Gilbert, M.D., as the director of the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). Dr. Gilbert is a long-time advocate of interoperability to support better patient care. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Manifest MedEx.

California – SacValley MedShare

SacValley MedShare (@svmshie) is a member of the California Association of Health Information Exchanges (CAHIE) and serves the 16-county region of California, north of Sacramento, which includes the North Central Valley and the surrounding mountainous terrain. Its region is largely rural and mountainous, with travel limited by climate and season in much of the area. Good communication is critical to coordinate care between primary care, specialists, hospital providers, and skilled nursing care facilities that fulfill a vital role in post-discharge care for many patients.

Nebraska Health Information Initiative (NeHII)

Nebraska Health Information Initiative (@NeHIIorg) is leading the effort to create a secure, online, web-based Health Information Exchange designed to serve the state of Nebraska. Improved delivery of health care information and reduced health care costs are good for all citizens of Nebraska. The state has a proud tradition and reputation of providing the finest health care possible to its citizens. The HIE will help health care providers take health care to the next level.

NEHII achieves certification for 18 eCQM measures – Furthering its mission to drive interoperability and improve quality of care, Nebraska Health Information Initiative (NEHII) is excited to announce the successful achievement of certification for 18 electronic clinical quality measures (eCQM) from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NEHII was the very first health information exchange to earn the NCQA eMeasure certification in June 2019.

Arizona – Health Current

Health Current (@AZHealthCurrent), is a partner that gives providers the information they need to make better clinical decisions and keep people healthy. The HIE believes more complete information is more meaningful. It makes healthcare transformation possible. And Health Current is central to this progress, integrating information technology and care delivery to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.

Texas – Paso del Norte Health Information Exchange (PHIX)

The Paso del Norte Health Information Exchange (@PHIXNetwork) is a unique collaborative of major health care leaders in El Paso. PHIX pulls health information from the EHRs of all providers in the PHIX network and stores it in a centralized record so that patients’ health information in one place. PHIX provides HIPAA- compliant email and supports physician practices in optimizing their utilization of EHR technology.

TTUHSC El Paso and TTP El Paso Partner with the Paso Del Norte Health Information Exchange to Improve Patient Care – Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso and its clinical practice, Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso, have partnered with the Paso Del Norte Health Information Exchange (PHIX) to improve patient care in the Borderland. PHIX is a nonprofit health information exchange (HIE) in the El Paso region whose mission is to improve health through
collaboration and data technology.

Georgia Health Information Network (GaHIN)

Georgia Health Information Network (@GeorgiaHIE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a healthier Georgia by facilitating the use and secure exchange of electronic health information so providers have the information they need at the point of care. GaHIN’s two products, GeorgiaDirect and Georgia ConnectedCare, connect providers statewide and nationally and are free for credentialed, authorized Georgia users.

Georgia Health Information Network Launches Lab Results Service – GaHIN has launched a new service that allows healthcare providers to share a copy of their patients’ lab results via a secure, searchable GaHIN repository. The new service reflects GaHIN’s focus on making patient health information available at the point of care to improve care quality and reduce costs.

Colorado Regional Health Information Exchange (CORHIO)

CORHIO200CORHIO (@CORHIO) manages one of the country’s largest and most successful health information exchange networks and works to improve healthcare through the use of information technology and data exchange.

CORHIO Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer – The CORHIO board of directors and executive leadership team are pleased to welcome Tim Dunbar to his new role as Chief Financial Officer. Dunbar most recently held the position of Director of Finance and Administration at the Colorado Health Institute. In his role, he directed the day-to-day financial and accounting activities, managed grants and contracts, oversaw human resources, benefits functions and IT vendors.

Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN)

The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (@MiHIN) is Michigan’s initiative to continuously improve health care quality, efficiency, and patient safety by promoting secure, electronic exchange of health information through the MiHIN Health Information Services Cloud (HISC). MiHIN represents a growing network of public and private organizations working to overcome data sharing barriers, reduce costs, and ultimately advance the health of Michigan’s population.

Early Bird Registration Now Open for Annual Michigan Health Information Techology Conference – This year, Connecting Michigan for Health celebrates twelve years in gathering Michigan’s health information technology leaders to share and discuss emerging issues within the health information technology community in Michigan. The 2020 Connecting Michigan for Health event series will kick off with a national InterOpathon on May 28 and May 29, 2020, at the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit, Michigan. On June 1, the Legal Summit returns to the Lansing Center in Lansing, Michigan followed by our flagship conference Connecting Michigan for Health, on June 2 and June 3. Early bird registration is now open for individuals looking to secure the best rate for the event series.

Michigan – Great Lakes Health Connect (GLHC)

Great Lakes Health Connect (@GLHC_HIE) is one of the largest and most successful Health Information Exchanges in the country and is growing rapidly. GLHC is committed to creating care-connected communities across Michigan. Their vision is to enhance patient experience, improve health outcomes, and reduce costs across the continuum of care.

HIMSS20 Buzz Word Vote – For the last several years, Great Lakes Health Connect has attempted to gauge what topics are top of mind in the industry based on the words and phrases used most frequently by attendees, speakers, vendors, and colleagues. These observations reveal patterns and trends that provide insight into the health-tech industry zeitgeist. In advance of HIMSS20, GLHC invites you to contribute your predictions for what will be the dominant buzzword at the conference. Cast your vote! Missouri – Missouri Health Connect (MHC)

MO-HC_twitterMissouri Health Connect (@HealthConnectMO), a non‐profit organization, is the state‐designated HIE organization that provides a secure and private electronic platform for sharing health information.

MO HealthNet receives funds to support electronic records programs – A federal program is giving Missouri’s Medicaid program $9.3 million to support implementation of a program that is intended to help multiple health care providers share patient information. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is providing the money to help Mo HealthNet develop and implement a Health Information Exchange Onboarding Program. The program provides funding to cover some of the costs for health care service providers to participate in the health information exchange.
