State Health Information Exchanges (HIE) come in all shapes and sizes but have one thing in common: To improve the quality, safety and efficiency of health care delivered in their states. Montana – Big Sky Care Connect (BSCC)

Formed in 2018, Big Sky Care Connect (@BSCCMontana) is a nonprofit created to respond to the need for a state-wide coordinated health information exchange (HIE) and related services to enhance clinical care in communities throughout Montana. Big Sky Care Connect serves to facilitate timely and secure access by health care providers to clinical information between various organizations, and engage in other activities to improve and promote the public health and quality of health care in Montana in a cost-effective manner.

BSCC Announces the Hiring of Ben Tyrrell as Chief Executive Officer – Big Sky Care Connect is pleased to announce the hiring of Ben Tyrrell as its Chief Executive Officer.

healtheConnect Alaska

healtheConnect Alaska (@akehealth) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, organized and managed by Alaskans and tasked by the State of Alaska’s Department of Health and Social Services, to provide safe, secure transport for health information in order to improve quality and safety of patient care and increase efficiencies for hospitals and medical practices. healtheConnect Alaska provides health information exchange and direct secure messaging services to more than 20 hospitals and 450 healthcare organizations across Alaska.

California – Manifest Medex

Manifest MedEx (@ManifestMedEx) is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health information exchanges (HIEs), combining 11.7 million claims records from Blue Shield of California and Anthem Blue Cross and 5 million clinical patient records from 150 participating partners. Manifest MedEx supports physicians, nurses, hospitals and health plans in sharing critical health information to ensure that patients receive the safest, highest-quality care possible. The California Integrated Data Exchange and Inland Empire Health Information Exchange merged to create Manifest Medex.

Manifest MedEx Announces Mimi Hall as Director, Public Health Innovation – Manifest MedEx (MX) announced that Mimi Hall, veteran California county public health leader, will join the nonprofit health data network in November as Director, Public Health Innovation. In her new role, Hall will lead MX’s collaboration with county and state agencies to improve public health and prevention.

Colorado and Arizona – Contexture

Contexture  (@ContextureHIT) is two visionary, innovating leaders in health information exchange (HIE): CORHIO and Health Current. Together we advance individual and community health and wellness through the delivery of actionable information and analysis.

Contexture Organizations CORHIO and Health Current Both Achieve HITRUST CSF® Certifications to Manage Risk, Improve Security Posture and Meet Compliance Requirements – CORHIO and Phoenix-based Health Current, both health information exchanges (HIEs) that operate independently under the regional organization Contexture, recently earned separate Certified statuses for information security by HITRUST. Together, CORHIO and Health Current serve 1,800 healthcare organizations across Colorado and Arizona.

Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN)

DHIN-twitterDelaware Health Information Network’s (@DHIN_HIE) roots reach back to 1997 when the Delaware General Assembly enacted the organization as a public/private partnership. The objective was, and remains today, to advance the creation of a statewide health information network that addresses the state’s needs for timely, reliable and relevant health care information. In 2007, DHIN “went live” – meaning it became the first operational statewide health information exchange in the nation.

Bear MRI & Imaging Joins DHIN – DHIN is pleased to welcome Bear MRI & Imaging Center to its network. This addition increases the amount of clinical data available in DHIN’s Community Health Record and expands the resources vital for more robust care coordination.

Health Share Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania (HSX)

PA-HSX-200HealthShare Exchange (@HealthShareExch) is the greater Philadelphia region’s health information exchange for the five-county Southeastern Pennsylvania region. HSX is a unique, membership-dues-supported nonprofit formed by the Delaware Valley’s hospitals/health systems and healthcare insurers that links the electronic medical record systems of different hospital health systems, medical centers, and clinics — and the claims data of healthcare insurers — to make this information accessible at inpatient and outpatient points of care, including medical practice offices.

New York -Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY)

NY-SHINY-200The SHIN-NY is the only HIE that provides universal access regardless of network or EHR system. New York State has made a significant investment in the SHIN-NY and in 2016 they set a goal of connecting 100% of the PPS across the state to the SHIN-NY. The eight RHIOs that make up the SHIN-NY are working directly with the PPS organizations to meet their needs.

Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL)

VITL-twitterVITL (@VITLVT) is the nonprofit organization that advances health care reform efforts in Vermont through the use of health information technology, and is the legislatively designated operator of the state’s Vermont Health Information Exchange (VHIE).

Beth Anderson receives national health information exchange leadership award – VITL President & CEO, Beth Anderson, is the proud recipient of the 2021 Emerging Leader Award presented by the Civitas Networks for Health, the leading industry organization for health information exchanges. Civitas, formerly known as the Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative (SHIEC), presented the award to Anderson at its annual conference.

Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services

LANES (@LANES_HIE) is an independent, non-profit organization developing a health information exchange (HIE) for all hospitals, clinics, and health plans that provide care to L.A. County residents. LANES seeks to make patients health information available safely and securely, when and where it is needed to enable better clinical care and care coordination.

LANES CEO, Ali Modaressi, Appointed To CHHS Data Exchange Framework Stakeholder – California Health and Human Services (CHHS) Secretary, Mark Ghaly, appointed Ali Modaressi, Chief Executive Officer of Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services (LANES), to the Data Exchange Framework Stakeholder Advisory Group.
