ONC Hosts Million Hearts Webinar

Using Health IT Tools to Reduce Heart Disease and Stroke

In September of 2011 HHS launched the Million Hearts®. This national initiative wants to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes in the U.S. by 2017. The initiative brings together communities, health systems, nonprofit organizations, federal agencies, and private-sector partners from across the country to fight heart disease and stroke. Now the ONC is hosting the Million Hearts® Webinar event in honor of National High Blood Pressure Education and Stroke Awareness months. On the webinar experts will discuss how they are using the latest health IT tools to standardize and improve the delivery of care to reduce the number of people with high blood pressure and high cholesterol, both leading causes of heart disease and stroke.
