CMS is having a National Provider call on Friday with information on registration for the Medicaid Incentive Program for Eligible Professionals. The call will begin at 1pm EST and is expected to last for about an hour and a half. Since the Medicaid Programs are state related there has been a bit of confusion on just how these will work. To qualify for an incentive payment under the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, an eligible professional must meet Medicaid patient volume criteria. The call will cover Medicaid eligibility, registration, steps to Medicaid incentive payments, switching between Medicare and Medicaid programs, reassigning incentive payments, and how to get help.
Their target audience for the call is EPs under the EHR Medicaid Incentive Program including:
- Physicians (primarily doctors of medicine and doctors of osteopathy);
- Nurse practitioners;
- Certified nurse-midwives;
- Dentists; and
- Physician assistants who furnish services in a federally-qualified health center or rural health clinic that is led by a physician assistant.
