J2 Pop-Up Studio on PopHealth Week Now On-Demand

As the entire industry pivoted from the cancellation of HIMSS20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we did as well, taking a series of conversations we had scheduled at the conference virtually.  We also repurposed the conversations as podcasts. The interview below on the CMS and ONC Final Rules released earlier this month is the first in this series and is a joint interview with the Executive Director of EHNAC and the CTO of J2 Global. We will roll out several more in the weeks to come.

Before viewing or listening to the interview below a message from J2 Global related to COVID-19:  J2 recently launched Consensus, a secure and interoperable platform that enables healthcare providers to share and manage patient information. This morning the company went live with Free Patient Query during the COVID-19 crisis. This free service will enable front-line healthcare providers to access a database of patient records, including past and current conditions and treatments, enabling them to prioritize high-risk patients and to make better decisions at the point of care. This is a powerful tool that can lessen the burden for our healthcare community during this crisis. Learn more here

On this Special Edition of PopHealth Week, Fred Goldstein discusses with his guests the trends impacting the industry and what impact two landmark rules on Interoperability, patient data access and information blocking released on Monday, March 6, 2020 will have on the entire industry.

Guests on the episode include Jeffrey Sullivan, Chief Technology Officer of J2 Global’s Cloud Services and Lee Barrett, Executive Director of Electronic Health Network Accreditation Commission aka EHNAC.

The discussion explores the top 5 trends everyone is talking about in the HIMSS community including:

  • The Rising cost of healthcare: reducing the financial burden for healthcare providers
  • Overcoming the roadblocks to interoperability and the impact of TEFCA aka the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement
  • Improving clinical and administrative workflow
  • Streamlining data standards and protocols to facilitate communication across systems; and
  • Enhancing the security of Personal Health Information and preventing data breaches

Moderating the conversation is Fred Goldstein, co-Host of PopHealth Week.
