Omnicell Enhances Unity Enterprise Platform to Allow Increased Interoperability for Hospitals and Health Systems
Omnicell, Inc. (@Omnicell)Ā announced the general availability of its Unity enterprise platform, the premier medication and supply automation solution for use in a wide range of patient care venues throughout hospitals and health care systems. The latest 19.5 release now includes enhanced interoperability between the Epic electronic health record (EHR) and the OmnicellĀ® automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) to meet the needs of health care providers. Through a partnership with Codonics, the Unity enterprise platform version 19.5 also includes an interoperable medication safety solution for the operating room that integrates the Omnicell Anesthesia Workstation with the Codonics Safe Label System.

More Than 3,500 Amerigroup Washington Members Improve Health Outcomes Through Voxivaā€™s Connect4health Mobile Phone Messages
Findings presented at the Medicaid Managed Care Congress showed that Amerigroup Washington members with a TracFone Lifeline phone who are enrolled in Voxivaā€™s Connect4health (@Voxiva) digital health messaging service were three times more likely to attend their annual physical exam within 90 days of receiving interactive text messages. More than 200,000 Amerigroup members across the country have enrolled in Connect4healthā€”with more than 3,500 in Washington alone.

VorroHealth’s KeyHIE Transform Cited in Community Interoperability and HIE Program Funding Announcement
VorroHealth announced that its KeyHIEā„¢ Transform solution is one of a few select tools long-term and behavioral healthcare providers can use to qualify for $1 million in grant funds to help improve sharing of health information. The grant is available from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’s Community Interoperability and Health Information Exchange (HIE) Program.

Lawmakers Question Future of Health Exchange
Managers at Connect for Health Colorado earlier this week recommended hiking the user fees from 1.4 percent to as high as 4.5 percent to fund about $54 million a year in expenses, a huge jump from long-promised costs of $26 million a year. At the same time, exchange managers also are pushing for a separate hike in assessments on all health insurance customers in the state ā€” even those who buy insurance outside the state exchange.
