The ONC Interoperability Pledge
Companies that provide 90 percent of electronic health records used by hospitals nationwide as well as the top five largest health care systems in the country have agreed to implement three core commitments: Consumer Access, No Blocking/Transparency, and Standards. Missouri Health Connection Supports Governor’s Line Item Veto
In a formal statement, Missouri Health Connection (MHC) strongly supported the Governor’s veto action on House Bill 2011, Section 11.420 since the budget was inappropriately and unconstitutionally manipulated as a result of special interests that are working to hinder and fragment the adoption of health information exchange (HIE) in Missouri.

11 New Members Join CommonWell; Participate in CommonWell Spring Summit
What an exciting two months CommonWell (@CommonWell) has had since we left HIMSS16 in Las Vegas. In addition to seeing on going progress by our current members, we have had 11 new members join our ever growing Alliance. The diversity of these newest members in both focus and size is representative of our continued expansion to the broad continuum of care and new use cases.

Twelve Colorado Imaging Centers Now Connected To CORHIO Health Information Exchange
Health Images, its sister center Colorado Springs Imaging, and CORHIO (@CORHIOannounced a ground-breaking partnership that will enable more efficient healthcare services for patients across the Front Range. Health Images is now sending radiology results, including MRIs, CT scans, X-rays, Ultrasounds, and other diagnostic imaging tests performed at their 12 locations, into the secure CORHIO health information exchange (HIE) network for authorized caregivers to access. This marks the first imaging center connection to the CORHIO HIE.

Payers Accelerate Private HIE Executions; Providers Judge HIE Replacements, Middleware and FHIR Options, 2016 Black Book Interoperability Survey
Black Book Research (@blackbookpolls) conducted its annual survey of hospital and health system executives, physician administrators and payer organization IT leaders to identify key interoperability trends and understand the challenges they face in their efforts to exchange patient information with other healthcare organizations. 2,012 provider HIE users and 2,300 payer HIE users, as well as 4,100 prospective HIE users of all user types were polled to understand the importance of interoperability in their strategic planning initiatives, as well as their ongoing and new challenges in areas such as connectivity and data exchange.

Key Organizations Come Together in Support of Patient-Centered and Interoperable Health IT
The National Association for Trusted Exchange (NATE) and CommonWell Health Alliance (@CommonWell) announced that each would become a member of the other’s organization. They have agreed to establish a mutual synergistic and complementary relationship with the goal of enhancing cross-vendor interoperability to better assure provider and patient access to health data regardless of where care occurs.

Registration is open for the 2016 ONC (@ONC_HealthIT) Annual Meeting: “Committed to Better Health through IT.” The Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for our public and private sector partners to discuss ways to leverage health IT to achieve better care, smarter spending, and healthier people.

EHRA Submits Comments on ONC’s Proposals for Enhanced Oversight
The HIMSS Electronic Health Record Association (EHRA) (@EHRAssociation), a trade association of Electronic Health Record (EHR) companies, addressing national efforts to create interoperable EHRs in hospital and ambulatory care settings, has submitted comments to ONC’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for the ONC Health IT Certification Program: Enhanced Oversight and Accountability. They are generally positive but oversight should be limited. Read the submitted comments.
