NextGen Healthcare announced today its commitment to adopting the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Association’s EHR Developer Code of Conduct. The Code was developed by the EHR Association through engagement with stakeholders spanning government constituents, healthcare provider associations and consumers. “The principles contained in the Code of Conduct are principles NextGen Healthcare has long adhered to. The adoption of the Code reaffirms our commitment to supporting safe healthcare delivery and demonstrates our continued efforts to provide clients with innovative tools that allow for the delivery of better patient care,” said Dr. Sarah Corley, chief medical officer for NextGen Healthcare.

eClinicalWorks has released findings from a recent survey examining the motivators and challenges for organizations interested in participating in ACOs, Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMHs) and other risk-based or shared savings programs. The research also looked into tools that would help these organizations meet their goals. More than half (53%) of respondents currently participate in one of the referenced programs. Among those who do not, approximately one-third (34%) anticipate their organization becoming part of an ACO, PCMH or shared-savings plan in the next three years.

Physicians Interactive (PI), a provider of online and mobile clinical resources and solutions for healthcare professionals, announced a partnership with docwise for customized digital content for medical professionals through the Omnio iPad app. Omnio, which optimizes the way medical professionals access information on the iPad, will integrate docwise’s aggregated reader platform for serving personalized curated content to clinicians this summer.

Healthcare Management Systems v12 has been tested and certified under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program as a 2014 Edition Complete Inpatient Electronic Health Record (EHR). The EHR software from Healthcare Management Systems (HMS) is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

HealthFusion announced that the MediTouch EHR (4.0) has been tested and certified as a Complete EHR that supports both Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use measures. MediTouch 2014 Technology was certificated by the Drummond Group as part of the Office of the National Coordinator – Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program.

OnePartner Health Information Exchange (HIE) has extended its partnership with Allscripts, adding the dbMotion platform to support the HIE’s growth.  The addition of dbMotion’s capabilities will enhance the ability of healthcare providers who participate in the exchange to communicate with one another to manage population health and enhance the care provided to patients. Allscripts acquired dbMotion in March 2013.

EHR, practice management and billing services vendor CareCloud has announced that the Company has hired Tom Cady as its new Vice President of Professional Services.  Cady will be responsible for managing CareCloud’s client implementation and training teams. He brings close to 30 years of executive management experience in consulting and professional services, sales and client service in the healthcare industry. He joins CareCloud as a member of its senior leadership team and will report to Albert Santalo, CareCloud’s Chairman and CEO, and will be based in the Company’s Boston office.
