EHRs in space? iPatientCare has announced their selection of iPatientCare by Wyle as the EHR vendor to supply an Ambulatory EHR to the Exploration Medical System Demonstration (EMSD) Project for the NASA Human Research Program (HRP). “Our Exploration Medical System Demonstration (EMSD) project is being designed for the specific needs of a spaceflight environment. We require a technically robust EHR system that can be customized to meet our interoperability requirements. We chose iPatientCare’s EHR because of its compliant software architecture and highly functional integration brokering architecture that makes this customization possible,” said David Rubin, Wyle EMSD Project Manager in an article published on Health Tech Zone.

Healthcare performance management solutions company MedeAnalytics, announced its new Population Health Analytics solution, which delivers enterprise business intelligence to support population health management, risk stratification, pay-for-performance quality measures, capitation, and shared savings adjudication for accountable care organizations (ACOs) and other new payer-provider risk models. The solution was introduced at the Healthcare Financial Management Association’s 2013 Annual National Institute in Orlando, Fla.

The Center for Technology and Aging (CTA) and the Partners Healthcare Center for Connected Health (CCH) supported by the California HealthCare Foundation, developed a return on investment (ROI) evaluation tool to help health care organizations assess the intrinsic financial costs and benefits of RPM technologies. The ROI evaluation quantifies the value of a quality improvement program to an organization and its patients based on savings, improved outcomes, and improved care efficiency. Allscripts has announced that FollowMyHealth v2.0 has received 2014 Edition Modular EHR Certification  from Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB program.  The certification is valid for both  both ambulatory and inpatient. FollowMyHealth is a patient engagement tool that will satisfy the criteria necessary to enable providers to attest to the following Meaningful Use criteria: Patient Education; View, Download, Transmit (VDT); Secure Messaging (Ambulatory); Automated Numerator Recording and Quality Management System for eligible provider or hospital technology.
