Greenway, a leading information technology partner to healthcare providers, has announced its acquisition of PeopleLYNK, an innovative patient engagement solution. PeopleLYNK promotes patient engagement in cooperation with PrimeSUITE®, Greenway’s integrated practice management and EHR offering. Patient engagement contributes to improved population health and patient satisfaction, and is a major goal of meaningful use Stage 2. By adding PeopleLYNK to its portfolio of solutions, Greenway better enables healthcare professionals to improve population health outcomes and meet the goals of meaningful use while empowering patients to play an active role in their own healthcare.

In other Greenway news, the company announced they will be working with Vanderbilt University Medical Center to jointly develop a clinical data research network (CDRN) that will include nearly 30 million patients and speed the translation of research findings into clinical practice. By participating in the project, Greenway is the first electronic health record  provider to be a full partner in a national Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) grant. The Mid-South CDRN created by Greenway and Vanderbilt will fuel research with the de-identified electronic health records of patients nationwide along with patient-reported outcomes. Approximately 24 million patients will be those with electronic records in Greenway systems, and the remainder will be patients of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Vanderbilt Affiliated Healthcare Network.

Saint Luke’s Health System, which includes 10 hospitals across the Kansas City, Mo. region, has finalized an agreement with EDCO® Health Information Solutions to implement EDCO’s patented Solarity® technology, and remote indexing services to assist the facility in achieving its goal of reaching Stage 7 of the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model. The technology and services will provide Saint Luke’s the capability to scan patient records at the point of care, and have the documents indexed automatically with Solarity.
