American HealthTech (@AmericanHealthT), a wholly owned subsidiary of CPSI and a leading provider of EHR for the post-acute and senior living markets, and COMS Interactive (@comsinteractiveannounce a new AHT/COMS workflow designed to make the COMS disease management solution available to users all within the AHT clinical workflow. The partnership between AHT and COMS also provides customers with single sign-on capability allowing users access to both systems, with a user interface that is simple to use and easy to train new staff. Without leaving AHT and within the clinical workflow, customers will be able to enter and access assessments, perform assessment oversight, review COMS reports and monitor key indicators on the AHT dashboard — and that’s just the beginning.

HealthPrize Technologies (@HealthPrize) announced a collaboration with Walgreens through which the HealthPrize Action Engine, patient engagement and medication adherence platform, will be offered through the drugstore chain’s website. The Walgreens program, powered by HealthPrize, will finish development later this month and will be presented to pharmaceutical sponsors as a way to support patient adherence for prescribed medications. It is planned to be offered to patients filling certain brand-name prescriptions for chronic conditions such as diabetes on Walgreens.com.

The global patient engagement solutions market is expected to reach USD 39.3 billion by 2024, according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc. (@GrandViewInc). The supportive government initiatives and the rising usage and awareness of mobile healthcare services are expected to impel the market growth

Apple’s ambitions in the health sector continue to expand, with its digital health team making its first known acquisition—personal health data startup Gliimpse (@GliimpseHealth). Silicon Valley-based Gliimpse has built a personal health data platform that enables any American to collect, personalize, and share a picture of their health data. The acquisition happened earlier this year, but Apple has been characteristically quiet about it. The company has now confirmed the purchase, saying: “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”

Cardinal Health (@cardinalhealth) reported fourth-quarter fiscal year 2016 revenues of $31.4 billion, an increase of 14 percent from the fourth quarter last year, and fiscal 2016 revenues of $121.5 billion, an increase of 19 percent from the same period last year. Cardinal Health also announced that its board of directors approved a quarterly dividend of $0.4489 per share. This quarterly dividend will be payable on Oct. 15 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Oct. 3.

Salesforce (@salesforce), the Customer Success Platform, announced a telehealth solution for Salesforce Health Cloud, enabling two-way video chat that gives patients the ability to connect face-to-face with their care teams from any mobile device. Caregivers currently use Health Cloud to get a complete view of their patients, manage their care holistically and engage with them in new ways. Now, with two-way video chat for Health Cloud — powered by Salesforce SOS — providers can deliver more timely, convenient and contextual care, increasing overall patient satisfaction.

3M Health Information Systems (@3MHISNewsannounced an agreement with Cerner (@Cerner), a global health company, to use 3M Patient-focused Episodes Software with Cerner’s HealtheIntent population health management platform. Providers will be able to view the landscape of a patient’s documented conditions to help define an episode of care, while analyzing costs and expected resource use.

Cordata Healthcare Innovations, LLC, (@cordatahealth) a specialty care coordination platforms company, announced the close of a Series A financing round of just under $3 million, inclusive of the conversion of outstanding convertible notes. Led by Chicago-based First Health Capital Partners (FHCP), the round also saw participation from CincyTech (@Cincy_Tech), who headed Cordata’s seed round in July of 2014, and CVH Holdings. The funding will be used to further investments in and expand the capabilities of Cordata’s multi-specialty platform for care coordination.
