KKR has eye on health with WebMD, Nature’s Bounty deals
Private equity firm KKR & Co (@KKR_Cohas agreed to buy WebMD Health Corp (@WebMD) for about $2.8 billion, bringing a slew of popular online health information websites under one umbrella, and separately said it would buy a major stake in Nature’s Bounty Company. The WebMD deal is five months after the New York-based company said it would explore strategic options amid a slowdown in advertising paid for by pharmaceutical companies. KKR will fold WebMD’s websites, including WebMD.com and Medscape.com, into its Internet Brands unit, which houses sites such as DentalPlans.com and AllAboutCounseling.com.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced the selection of Cerner (@Cerner) as the supplier of its electronic health records system for its seven care and treatment facilities, which serve people living with psychiatric disorders and intellectual disabilities. Availity Successfully Raises $200 Million of Debt Financing
Availity (@availity) the nation’s largest payer and provider engagement network, announced it has closed a five year $200 million senior secured revolving credit facility. The facility includes an accordion feature which allows for an additional $100 million of capacity when exercised. The revolver will be largely undrawn at close.
