The round was led by Kayne Partners, the growth private equity group of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P., an alternative investment firm managing over $22.5 billion in assets. Shout out to CynergisTek (@cynergistek) for having another record growth period. CynergisTek, an authority in health information security, privacy and compliance, announced that it achieved record growth in the first half of 2016, with a 170 percent increase in revenue and a nearly 50 percent increase in bookings when compared to the first half of 2015. Additionally, the company has experienced a compound annual growth rate of 63 percent in new customers since 2012. CynergisTek attributes this growth to ongoing demand for its specialized security expertise amidst increasingly sophisticated threats and complex regulations.

Docent Health (@DocentHealthannounced that the company received investment capital from three prominent venture capital firms deeply committed to cultivating consumerism in healthcare. The $15 million Series A round, co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Maverick Ventures, will help Docent Health transform the way health systems engage with customers. Docent Health’s offering combines advanced analytics with workflow automation to orchestrate carefully curated “experience journeys” that integrate digital and human interactions.

Arista MD (@arista_md), a technology-enabled service company providing eConsults and a suite of related specialist referral support tools, recently announced it completed $11 million in financing. The Series A round was led by Avalon Ventures with participation from Correlation Ventures. The proceeds will be used to accelerate commercialization and further enhance functionality of the company’s proprietary Referral Intelligence Platform.

(@drchrono), the industry leading Electronic Health Record (EHR), practice management, revenue cycle management and medical API platform on iPad, iPhone and web, recently launched a new partnership and program for students in health information management (HIM) with the American Health Information Management Association (@AHIMAResources).

Kno2 (@Kno2), the company that optimizes patient document exchange for healthcare providers, and premier electronic health record (EHR), practice management (PM), and revenue cycle management (RCM) vendor Aprima® Medical Software (@AprimaMedEHR), recently announced a collaboration that will bring Kno2’s cloud fax technology to Aprima customers. Aprima is a long time Kno2 partner that offers its clients an integrated document exchange solution using the Kno2 platform. Aprima is the first partner for Kno2’s new cloud fax solution and plans to demonstrate the integration of the two products at the Aprima User Conference in Dallas, Texas August 5-7.

DataMotion Health (@DataMotion), a provider of clinical data delivery services and solutions, recently announced its DataMotion Direct Secure Messaging capability will be incorporated in the Continua Design Guidelines, published annually by the Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHA), to enable the exchange of data between Continua-certified personal connected health devices and solutions in accordance with the Office of the National Coordinators for Health Information Technology’s (ONC’s) Direct Project initiative. The Direct Project (Direct) outlines protocols for transmitting encrypted protected health information (PHI) directly to known, trusted recipients over the Internet. The Continua Design Guidelines are recognized as the international standard for user-friendly, end-to-end interoperability of personally connected health devices and systems.
