ANCC Conference and World Premier Movie

Nurses the Movie to Premier in LA October 11th.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center will be holding its National Magnet Conference on the Wednesday and Thursday this week. The event draws more than 7000 nurses and nursing executives to recognize and celebrate the prestigious Magnet Recognition Program. Their theme this year is Reaching for the Stars. And this year stop by Magnet Central in Hall K for the exhibit hall, posters, an art gallery, film festival, bookstore, Magnet lounge, and more.

And what better venue can you have to premier Nurses the Movie? This documentary is a production of the non profit On Nursing Excellence, ONE. Members of the leadership team of the project Kathy Douglas and Karen Kirby have been instrumental in bringing the project to this night. Kathy explains the three goal of the film in Script Not Included, a production article for the movie. The film’s three goals are to; help people understand what it means to be a nurse; bring out the realities of nursing and how it touches people’s lives; and to show nurses how beautiful and powerful they are. The film is shot in real-time with no scripting.

The film is dedicated in honor of the late nurse leader Joyce C. Clifford, RN, PhD, FAAN, for her lifetime achievements in the field of nursing. “A Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and designated Living Legend in 2005, her countless accomplishments and contributions to the profession of nursing has been an inspiration to so many across healthcare.”

Don’t miss this world premier event. The film will now have two showing on October 11th at 5:30 and 7:30 at the Regal Cinemas, LA Live Stadium.
