About the Conference
On August 18-21, 2019, the HIE community will convene at the Gaylord National Resort & Conference Center in National Harbor, MD to celebrate HIE growth and success across the country. The 5th Annual SHIEC Conference is hosted by: SHIEC HIE members, Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP), Maryland and CRISP, DC. SHIEC19 Conference registration is now open. Early Bird rates are available through June 21:

Kelly Hoover Thompson, SHIEC CEO
As SHIEC CEO, Kelly Hoover Thompson (@HIEforMe) is responsible for working collaboratively with SHIEC’s members and board of directors to develop and actively advance an organizational strategy that ensures SHIEC’s success. Her goal is to elevate the awareness, stature, and perception of HIEs on the national healthcare landscape.
2019 SHIEC Achievement Awards
The 2nd Annual SHIEC Achievement Awards recognize outstanding achievement by health information exchange (HIE) organizations. Listed below are the Nomination Criteria/Eligibility:
- Only SHIEC HIE members are eligible for nomination. Nominations may be organizational level, team level or individual level.
- A separate Nomination Form must be submitted for each nomination.
- Nomination Form must be complete, including two Letters of Recommendation, to be eligible for consideration. No partial
nomination applications will be accepted. - Self-nominations are acceptable.
- Nominations will be evaluated for relevance, effectiveness, impact, sustainability and return of investment.
Nomination deadline is June 14, 2019.
