Medal Unveils New Platform that Revolutionizes Health Data Transfer
At HIMSS, Medal (@GetMedal) will be unveiling a new platform that can extract, process and contextualize the vast amount of information that exists about patients – and present it to physicians in a timely and relevant way. It’s the “best kept secret in healthcare,” according to the Center for Medical Interoperability’s Richard B. Tayrien – a complete system for extracting medical information from every possible source where data is trapped: fax, printed paper, health information exchange data, and from most EHRs. Machine learning and natural language processing match over 300 medical attributes to each word of unstructured text, making it the most comprehensive clinical story-generator on the market. It means that clinicians can more easily gain access to critical data that could save a patient’s life.
