‘@HITAdvisor Asks – What Inspires You?

TJI-Commonwell-200Each week, Justin Barnes, aka the @HITAdvisor, hosts This Just In, his radio show which is broadcast on Healthcare NOW radio. On this 30-minute informative program, Justin and his guests shed light on the latest trends, strategy and innovations impacting healthcare, technology and even entrepreneurialism in America. Whether it’s healthcare, health IT, strategy, or the “next big thing”, if a topic is trending, Justin is sure to be talking about it with his broad circle of peers.

On his November 30th show, Justin interviewed his good friend and industry colleague, Jitin Asnaani (@Jitin), Executive Director of the CommonWell Health Alliance (@CommonWell).  Jitin has experience in both the public and private sector which equips him with the tools and knowledge to effectively collaborate with government, vendors, providers and other interoperability stakeholders across the care continuum. His diverse work history includes product innovation and interoperability at athenahealth, technical standards development at the Office of National Coordinator (ONC), product management at a health IT startup and strategy consulting at Deloitte.

As has become his custom, Justin asked Jitin where his favorite place to get or be inspired is.  Jitin’s response: the mountains of New Hampshire.  Jitin has personal ties to this area of the U.S.  His wife and her family are from New Hampshire and the couple was married on Mount Washington in northern New Hampshire.  Jitin says he has spent a lot of time hiking the beautiful mountains and breathing in the crisp air.  He is inspired by their serenity and strength and says the mountains are the perfect antidote to the crazy life in health care and healthcare technology we are living today!
