HIT Standards Committee Meeting Tomorrow

While listening in on the HIT Policy meeting last week I was following along with some of the Twitter chatter. The morning sessions were actually quite interesting. The #HITPOL group had accurate reporting real time and for the most part good comments. You can always find the polite pro and con CCHIT tweets from the usual suspects. But it all really ended at the lunch break. And I have to admit, when you really needed the extra chatter was during the Standards updates! As the Standards workgroup gave us a “sneak peak” at tomorrow’s meeting, I was clawing through the cob webs of my memory, of almost 20 years ago, of my programming days in the EDI and bar coding days. Wow, it hasn’t gotten any more interesting!

With that introduction, don’t miss the HIT Standards Committee meeting tomorrow at 9am EST. The meeting materials are posted here. To participate go here.

And I couldn’t let you attend the meeting without some CliffsNotes on the geek speak. Here is our Standards Pocket Reference Guide.

And to put a serious perspective on standards, read David Kibbe and Brian Klepper’s Why Standards Matter: The True Meaning of Interoperability in THCB.

Good Luck!
