HHS issues major rule modernizing Medicaid managed care
Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Programs; Medicaid Managed Care, CHIP Delivered in Managed Care, and Revisions Related to Third Party Liability final rule was published. Interoperability will play a part and according to HHS the rule has four key goals: (1) supporting states’ efforts to advance delivery system reform and improvements in quality of care for Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries; (2) strengthening the consumer experience of care and key consumer projections; (3) strengthening program integrity by improving accountability and transparency; and (4) aligning rules across health insurance coverage programs to improve efficiency and help consumers who are transitioning between sources of coverage.

Healthix Partners with HBI Solutions, Adding Real-time Predictive Analytics to HIE Offerings
Healthix (@healthix), the nation’s largest public health information exchange (HIE), with data of over 16 million patients, has selected HBI Solutions to offer predictive analytics and performance analysis capabilities to its participant organizations. Healthix chose HBI as a partner based upon their successful work in providing a broad range of analytics and predictive risk services for health information exchanges across the country.

New Hampshire Health Information Organization Upgrades Communication System, Selects TigerText Secure Messaging Platform
TigerText (@tigertext), a provider of secure messaging for healthcare, announced that the New Hampshire Health Information Organization (NHHIO), New Hampshire’s network for the digital exchange of patient health information, has selected TigerText as a secure messaging provider. NHHIO will leverage TigerText’s messaging platform to securely connect the New Hampshire healthcare community and streamline patient care and data sharing.

Connect Has Released Version 4.6 to the Community
CONNECT 4.6 (@CONNECT_Project) was released on Friday, March 18. This release includes enhancements to audit logging along with compliance to the NwHIN/ATNA audit message requirements for Patient Discovery (PD), Query for Documents (QD), Retrieve Documents (RD), Document Submission (DS), and SOAP/X12 services. These audit events are made viewable and searchable through the System Administration Module to help with monitoring and troubleshooting transactions and providing additional insight for reporting.

Greater Houston Healthconnect (@HealthconnectTX), the health information exchange (HIE) serving Southeast Texas, has received full accreditation from the Texas Health Information Exchange Accreditation Program (TX-HIEAP), achieving one of the highest levels of accreditation possible for the exchange of electronic health records.
