HL7 Publishes FHIR® Release 3

The new version is the culmination of 18 months of extensive work to incorporate changes and enhancement requests received from implementation partners across the world, including the Argonaut Project.

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) (@AHNtoday) and VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) announced the successful integration of their Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platforms. The two organizations can now exchange veterans’ health records securely and seamlessly for a more connected patient-provider experience.

IBM Watson Health to Integrate MedyMatch Technology into Cognitive Imaging Offerings to Help Doctors Identify Head Trauma and Stroke
MedyMatch Technology (@MedyMatch) announced a collaboration with IBM (@IBM) Watson Health to bring MedyMatch’s A.I.-based clinical decision support application to imaging experts working in hospital emergency rooms and other acute care settings to help doctors identify instances of intracranial bleeding as a result of head trauma and stroke. Initially, IBM Watson Health’s Imaging group will distribute the MedyMatch brain bleed detection application globally through its vendor neutral sales channels. Moving forward, IBM Watson Health and MedyMatch will develop interoperability between MedyMatch’s application and IBM Watson Health Imaging’s offerings.

GetWellNetwork and Veterans Health Administration Integrate Technology to Transform Care
GetWellNetwork®, Inc. (@GetWellNetwork), the leader in Interactive Patient Care™ (IPC) solutions, announced the completion of interfaces enabling secure data exchange between the company’s IPC platform and VistA/CPRS, the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) electronic health record system. New DOD Electronic Medical Record System Called a Success
The Defense Department’s newly modernized electronic health record system was recognized as successful after a weeklong deployment at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington, officials said Feb. 15. Fairchild’s 92nd Medical Group became the first military hospital or clinic to use MHS GENESIS, a single, integrated electronic inpatient and outpatient health record that transforms health care delivery within DOD’s Military Health System, officials said.
