eHealth Exchange Survey Reveals Dramatic Increases in Participation and Online Transactions
Healtheway, the non-profit, public-private collaboration that operationally supports the eHealth Exchange (formerly known as the Nationwide Health Information Network Exchange), announced the results of its annual participation survey. The survey results show significant increases in participation in the eHealth Exchange as well as a surge in the number of secure online transactions taking place among the eHealth Exchange community participants.

LifeMed ID technology Primed to Help Public and Private Sectors Meet Recommendations of National Patient Matching Initiative
Initial findings from the Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) reaffirm the priorities of LifeMed ID, the nation’s leader in providing healthcare solutions to ensure patient safety through accurate record matching and patient identification. The ONC, the top U.S. agency on health IT security, launched the Patient Matching Initiative in 2013 in response to the need for improved technology to manage the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Based on initial findings and recommendations from stakeholders, the ONC announced last month an imminent need for improved patient identification and record matching across healthcare organizations, and for defining processes and best practices for accurate patient identity.  Read press release.

Albany Lender First to Tap into Digital Medical Records
SEFCU starts the new year as a pioneer in the Albany-area business community in this way: It’s the first to use the electronic medical record services provided by Hixny, the Healthcare Information Xchange of New York.

SEFCU, which is the largest credit union in New York’s Capital Region, will be joined by other larger regional businesses in the coming months, according to Hixny CEO Mark McKinney.  Read press release.

Inofile Receives Extensive Certifications at IHE Connectathon
Inofile announced that it received nearly 80 certifications at the Integrating Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) North American Connectathon, a national health information system and technology testing event for the healthcare industry. MRO Achieves DirectTrust.org/EHNAC Accreditation
