Healtheway’s eHealth Exchange Selected as ACT-IAC Igniting Innovation 2015 Award Finalist
Healtheway (@HealthewayInc), a non-profit, public-private collaborative focused on advancing the implementation of interoperable health information exchange, announced that the eHealth Exchange has been selected as a Top 30 finalist for the 2015 Igniting Innovation Awards, presented by the American Council for Technology – Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) Institute for Innovation, the premier public-private partnership in the government IT community.

ONC hires first Chief Health Information Officer
It was reported that Dr. Michael James McCoy will be joining ONC as their first Chief Health Information Officer, effective January 26, 2015. He will report directly to National Coordinator Karen DeSalvo and will be responsible for the development of ONC clinical policy for standards and other regulatory matters. He will be the ONC’s clinical subject matter expert on interoperability.

Orion Health Achieves Direct Trusted Agent Accreditation Program from EHNAC and DirectTrust
Orion Health (@OrionHealth), a leading population health management company, announced it has achieved full accreditation with the Direct Trusted Agent Accreditation Program (DTAAP) for Health Information Systems Program (HISP) from DirectTrust and the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). Direct Trusted Agent accreditation recognizes excellence in health data processing and transactions, and ensures compliance with industry-established standards, HIPAA regulations and the Direct Project.

NeoDeck Holdings Partners with DataMotion to Offer Secure Messaging for Clinical and Non-Clinical Healthcare
NeoDeck Holdings (@NeoMedEHR), Puerto Rico’s leading provider of healthcare management solutions, announced it has partnered with DataMotion (@DataMotion), an accredited health information service provider (HISP) supplying email encryption solutions for clinical and non-clinical exchange of protected health information (PHI). NeoDeck will add DataMotion’s entire line of secure messaging solutions to its product portfolio. This partnership will allow NeoDeck customers to take advantage of DataMotion’s advanced, cloud-based encryption technology – including Direct Secure Messaging and SecureMail – in order to exchange health information securely while remaining in full compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH).

Healthfirst® Selects InterSystems HealthShare® Platform for Secure, Reliable Health Information Exchange
Healthfirst (@HealthfirstNY), a not-for-profit health plan serving more than one million members in the New York City metropolitan area, announced that it selected the InterSystems HealthShare® health informatics platform for its health information exchange (HIE) and clinical portal. HealthShare will centralize clinical data from medical records and other sources for Healthfirst members, enabling the Healthfirst provider network (hospitals and physicians) to exchange data in a secure and efficient manner. It will assist Healthfirst members with providing necessary information to doctors as they navigate the healthcare system.

InterSystems Successfully Completes eHealth Exchange Product Testing to Ensure Interoperability
InterSystems (@InterSystems), a global leader in software for connected healthcare, announced that the InterSystems HealthShare® informatics platform has successfully completed the eHealth Exchange Product Testing Program. Mirth Enters into Agreement to Power Arizona’s Statewide Health Information Exchange
Mirth, LLC (@MirthLLC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII) and a global leader in health information technology, announced that it has entered into an agreement with Health Information Network of Arizona (HINAz or The Network), Arizona’s statewide health information exchange (HIE) that is operated by Arizona Health-e Connection (AzHeC).
