4Medapproved, provider of online education and certification resources for providers and professionals in all stages of the health IT implementation process, announced today its latest course offering, Certified Meaningful Use Professional (CMUP). The new 4Med CMUP course provides comprehensive online training on how Eligible Professionals (EPs) and Eligible Hospitals (EHs) under the CMS EHR Incentive Program can meet Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use requirements.

The Electronic Health Record Association (EHR Association), a collaboration of more than 40 EHR companies, announced recently the landmark EHR Developer Code of Conduct, developed by the Association as a reflection of its members’ commitment to supporting safe healthcare delivery, fostering continued innovation, and operating with high integrity in the market for EHR users and their patients and families. Michele (“Mickey”) McGlynn (Siemens), the Association’s Chair, said, “Representing the majority of operational EHRs in physicians’ practices and hospitals in the US today, we understand firsthand the transformative power of health IT, and we offer this Code of Conduct as a reflection of our industry’s ongoing commitment to collaborate as trusted partners with all stakeholders.”

NoMoreClipboard and ICA, a provider of interoperability technology that enables care coordination and health information exchange (HIE), announced a strategic agreement that will capitalize on integrating ICA HIE offerings with NoMoreClipboard personal health record (PHR) and patient portal solutions. By combining ICA technology with patient-facing applications from NoMoreClipboard, HIEs, hospitals, health systems, providers, communities and ACOs can improve electronic communication with patients and meet the patient engagement requirements in meaningful use stage two.

Nuance Communications  today announced a new version of Dragon Medical Practice Edition designed especially for smaller practices to help accelerate clinician adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and meaningful use of health information technology (HIT). Practice Edition is powered by the Dragon Medical speech recognition technology used by more than 180,000 physicians. Practice Edition introduces voice shortcuts to aid medical searches for information, and supports more than 90 specialized medical vocabularies and the customized needs of small practices, helping physicians improve productivity and document specialized care and medical decisions faster and more accurately.

Social Solutions’ Efforts to Outcomes Impact software has been certified as an Electronic Health Records (EHR) Module for use by the CCHIT. To earn certification, ETO Impact was tested with the 2014 Edition EHR Test Method, used by testing laboratories and certification bodies to evaluate the conformance and functionality of EHR Modules against the standards, implementation specifications and certification criteria adopted by the Health and Human Services Secretary to support Meaningful Use attestation beginning with EHR reporting periods in FY 2014.
