Aiberry Secures $8M in Seed Funding to Accelerate AI-Powered Mental Health Screenings
Artificial intelligence (AI)-powered mental health screening pioneer Aiberry (pronounced “I” + “berry”) announced that it has secured $8 million in seed funding led by Confluence Capital Group, Inc. (CCG) with participation from the VC fund Ascension AI. The new funds, which bring total funding to $10M, will be used to accelerate adoption of the Aiberry platform, which uses an AI-powered therapeutic assistant to conduct a conversation to detect mental health disorders by analyzing what is being said, the speech patterns being used and even subtle changes in facial expressions.

Transcarent (@transcarent), a health and care experience company that makes it easy for people to access high-quality, affordable care announced plans to acquire the leading AI-powered virtual care platform and care business of on-demand primary care company, 98point6. The acquisition gives Transcarent access to the leading AI-powered virtual care technology and an affiliated medical group of providers skilled at delivering high-quality, on-demand care.

AION Labs Launches AI Startup for De Novo Antibody Design
AION Labs (@AionLabs), the first-of-its-kind innovation lab spearheading the adoption of AI technologies and computational science to solve therapeutic challenges, announced the formation of DenovAI, the lab’s second startup approved by the Israel Innovation Authority. The new company will develop an AI-powered biophysics solution that can discover potential antibodies completely de novo (from scratch), and then suggest candidates likely to make effective drugs.

Lark Health’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Heart Health Program Significantly Improves Cardiac Self-Efficacy
Lark Health (@larkhealth), a digital care company for the prevention and management of chronic conditions, announced key results from its pilot study surrounding its Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Heart Health program, which helps patients prevent and manage heart disease by targeting Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) risk factors. The study, “Cardiac Self-Efficacy Improvement in a Digital Health Pilot Program for Heart Health” found that, on average, study participants increased their Cardiac Self-Efficacy (CSE) score by 12.93 percent, the first digital care solution to show CSE improvement. The CSE study results will be presented at The Society of Behavioral Medicine’s 44th Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions in Phoenix, AZ, from April 26–29, 2023.

Products is First to Receive FDA 510(k) Clearance for AI Algorithm for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (@viz_ai), a company in AI-powered disease detection and intelligent care coordination, announced it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its algorithm intended to detect suspected abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). Viz AAA is the first FDA-cleared AI-powered solution for the detection and triage of suspected AAA.

Etiometry Announces CE Mark and Health Canada Authorization for Adult Use of AI-Based Algorithm that Detects Risk of Hypercapnia
Etiometry (@etiometry), a company in clinical decision-support software for critical care, announced CE Mark and Health Canada authorization of its IVCO2 Index™ for adult populations, which allows clinicians to visualize inadequate ventilation of carbon dioxide with other contextual data from the Etiometry Platform to help inform intervention decisions and get ahead of patient deterioration. The IVCO2 Index was first FDA-cleared for pediatric use in 2019 and now carries CE Mark and Health Canada licenses for both pediatric and adult use.
