The Doc Announces New Rapid Detection SARS-CoV-2 Antibody Test Kit, Plans to Alleviate COVID-19 Testing Delays
The Doc, LLC. announced the development of a new rapid detection serological antibody test kit for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. With results in minutes using only a drop of blood, the Company’s IgM/IgG antibody test has been submitted for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Company has already conducted several rounds of clinical trials with patients in Los Angeles, using antibody testing as an accurate and reliable diagnostic tool.

FDA Approves First Treatment for COVID-19
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (@US_FDA) approved the antiviral drug Veklury (remdesivir) for use in adult and pediatric patients 12 years of age and older and weighing at least 40 kilograms (about 88 pounds) for the treatment of COVID-19 requiring hospitalization. Veklury should only be administered in a hospital or in a healthcare setting capable of providing acute care comparable to inpatient hospital care. Veklury is the first treatment for COVID-19 to receive FDA approval.

Survey: Three-Fourths of Hospital Executives Concerned About Financial Viability Without Effective COVID-19 Treatment or Vaccine by Kaufman Hall (@KaufmanHall) – Nearly three-quarters of hospital leaders are either moderately (52%) or extremely (22%) concerned about the financial viability of their organizations without an effective treatment or vaccine for COVID-19, according to a new report from Kaufman Hall. One-third of respondents (33%) saw operating margin declines in excess of 100% in the second quarter of 2020 compared with the same period of 2019.

Supplyframe Study of Medical Devices Supply Chain Indicates U.S. Will Have the Right Equipment to Create, Distribute COVID-19 Vaccine at Scale Within a Year  by MPO Magazine (@mpomagazine) – New research from Supplyframe indicates that nearly a third (32 percent) of supply chain professionals believe it will take six to 12 months for the global supply chain to be back at full capacity following the disruptions due to the pandemic, and a fifth (20 percent) said it will take 12 months to 2 years. Yet the same research shows that 66 percent think that if a vaccine is approved for use in the U.S., the necessary medical equipment will be available to produce and distribute that vaccine at scale within one year.
