10 Day Series of Virtual Sessions
August 17 – September 15, 2020
Join SHIEC for 10-days of virtual sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (ET) for the 2020 SHIEC Annual Virtual Conference Series, beginning Monday, August 17, 2020.
SHIEC is pleased to announce Keynote Speaker, Adi Gundlapalli, MD, PhD, MS, Chief Public Health Informatics Officer of the Center for Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Services for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will be kicking off the 2020 SHIEC Virtual Conference Series on Monday, August 17 at 1:15 p.m. eastern.
SHIEC has been monitoring the COVID-19 crisis to determine if they would be able to host the annual SHIEC Conference in-person August 16 – 19, 2020. Given the level of uncertainty during this public health crisis, organizational travel restrictions and each state’s response to the crisis differs, they feel that it would be socially irresponsible to host an in-person conference this year. Therefore, they have transitioned the in-person SHIEC Annual Conference in San Antonio this August to be a SHIEC Annual Virtual Conference Series instead.
They want to ensure that the community stays safe and healthy and that HIEs throughout the country are enabled to continue leading COVID-19 response activities in their communities.
After the virtual event series this year, they will have the 2021 SHIEC Annual Conference in Scottsdale, AZ August 15 – 18, 2021 and then will be in San Antonio, TX August 22 – 24, 2022.
They understand this year will be the first year hosting a virtual conference series and thank you in advance for your continued support.
