Business Insider reports that the number of US physicians engaging with telemedicine job postings has spiked substantially, which could portend growth in the supply of telemedicine practitioners and overall telemedicine utilization. Between 2015 and 2018, the number of physicians on Doximity — a “LinkedIn” for doctors — who self-reported telemedicine as a skill doubled, increasing 20% annually, per a new report from online medical network service Doximity.

Is forced telemedicine the future of healthcare?
Daily Republic reports that by making visits free to the patient and throwing in most common lab work and prescriptions for $5 while making in-person doctor visits comparatively pricey for consumers, Humana, and other insurers, is hoping to compel sick people to consult teledocs.

Montana Health Clinic Receives Federal Grant To Expand Telemedicine Addiction Treatment
Montana Public Radio reports that for the first time ever, federal Farm Bill grants for medicine are being aimed at treating opiod addiction. $188 thousand for that is heading to the Bighorn Valley Health Center in Southeast Montana. The clinic plans to use the grant to launch a telemedicine program for rural Montanas struggling with opioid abuse.

ND Therapists Use Telehealth to Connect With Traumatized Children
mHealth Intelligence reports behavioral health providers in North Dakota are using telehealth to work with children who have been victims of physical or sexual abuse or neglect.

Virtual Visits with CVS’ MinuteClinic Arrive in Texas
D CEO Healthcare reports CVS Heath’s MinuteClinic has arrived in Texas. Patients can use their mobile device or computer to see a provider at any time for minor illnesses, injuries, skin conditions and other needs through virtual visits.
