MedReps surveys its users annually to gather data on medical sales salaries including pharmaceutical sales salaries, biotech sales salaries, and more. Here are this year’s reports.

2020 Medical Sales Salary Report
This annual salary report found the 2019 average medical sales rep total compensation increased by $12,000 over the previous year. However, these encouraging 2020 findings risk being shadowed by uncertainties amid the COVID-19 global crisis.

2020 Surgical Sales Report
The outlook for surgical sales representatives was bright at the close of 2019. No one could have ever predicted what the first quarter of 2020 would bring. According to this survey, 91% of surgical sales respondents believe the COVID-19 crisis will negatively impact their earnings. Consequently, less than half expect to earn more in 2020 than they did in 2019.

2020 Pharmaceutical Sales Sales Salary Report
According to this survey, three-fourths of pharmaceutical sales representatives expect the COVID-19 crisis to negatively impact their income. However, they’re not letting this deflate their confidence. In fact, 58% of respondents say they expect to earn more in 2020 than they did in 2019.

2020 Medical Equipment Sales Salary Report
Medical equipment sales representatives ended 2019 on a slow but steady salary increase. No one could have ever predicted what the start of 2020 would hold. According to the survey, 78% of medical equipment sales respondents believe the COVID-19 crisis will negatively impact their earnings.

2020 Medical Device Sales Salary Report
According to this survey, 85% of medical device sales respondents believe the COVID-19 crisis will negatively impact their earnings this year. This is due to the pandemic limiting access to hospitals and clinics, as well as many elective procedures being postponed or canceled in many states. With this outlook, less than half of medical device respondents said they expect to earn more in 2020 than they did in 2019.

2020 Biotech Sales Salary Report
Biotech had the biggest increase in year-over-year earnings out of all other categories. Biotech sales reps have witnessed a steady increase in total average compensation over the last five years. These reps celebrated another record-breaking year-over-year increase at the end of 2019.
