State HIE News and Updates 7-19-19

State Health Information Exchanges (HIE) come in all shapes and sizes but have one thing in common: To improve the quality, safety and efficiency of health care delivered in their states. California – SacValley MedShare

SacValley MedShare (@svmshie) is a member of the California Association of Health Information Exchanges (CAHIE) and serves the 16-county region of California, north of Sacramento, which includes the North Central Valley and the surrounding mountainous terrain. Its region is largely rural and mountainous, with travel limited by climate and season in much of the area. Good communication is critical to coordinate care between primary care, specialists, hospital providers, and skilled nursing care facilities that fulfill a vital role in post-discharge care for many patients.

Mountain Communities Healthcare District Goes Live With ADT – Mountain Communities Healthcare District, “Trinity Hospital” brought their ADT (Admit/Discharge/Transfer) feed live with SacValley MedShare. The feed also includes information from their two clinics, in Weaverville and Hayfork. The next phase is Labs and EMS integration.

California – Manifest Medex

Manifest MedEx is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health information exchanges (HIEs), combining 11.7 million claims records from Blue Shield of California and Anthem Blue Cross and 5 million clinical patient records from 150 participating partners. Manifest MedEx supports physicians, nurses, hospitals and health plans in sharing critical health information to ensure that patients receive the safest, highest-quality care possible. The California Integrated Data Exchange and Inland Empire Health Information Exchange merged to create Manifest Medex.

Eight California Hospitals Join Manifest MedEx – Manifest MedEx continues to expand in California with the addition of Prime Healthcare. Once named “The Fastest Growing Hospital System” in the country by Modern Healthcare, Prime Healthcare is an award-winning hospital system with 45 hospitals in 14 states. The health system will add eight of its California hospitals to Manifest MedEx, joining the seven Prime hospitals already in the network. Manifest MedEx is helping California health leaders reach their goals of improving outcomes, reducing costs, and enhancing patient experience.

HealthSYNC of Louisiana

HealthSYNC of Louisiana (@HealthSYNCofLA) is a physician-led health information network delivered in partnership with the Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS) offering a suite of health information technology tools to help health professionals across the state of Louisiana CONNECT. ANALYZE. ENGAGE. and TRANSFORM. the healthcare industry.

HealtHIE Nevada

HealtHIE Nevada (@HealtHIENevada) is a private, nonprofit, community-based HIE dedicated to connecting healthcare organizations by managing real time, secure, and accurate exchange of clinical information. HealtHIE Nevada operates throughout the entire state, and is the only HIE open and available to the entire Nevada healthcare community.

HealtHIE Nevada Connects to State Immunization Registry – LAS VEGAS – HealtHIE Nevada has announced a connection with Nevada WebIZ, the statewide immunization information system, in order to allow health care providers the ability to retrieve immunization data quickly and securely. The connection went live effective June 30, 2019 and was established using funds obtained through a $1.2M grant supported by the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, which was signed and enacted under Title XIII of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Arizona – Health Current

Health Current (@AZHealthCurrent), is a partner that gives providers the information they need to make better clinical decisions and keep people healthy. The HIE believes more complete information is more meaningful. It makes healthcare transformation possible. And Health Current is central to this progress, integrating information technology and care delivery to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.

Maine – HealthInfoNet

HealthInfoNet (@hinfonet) is a Maine-based, independent nonprofit designated by the State of Maine to operate Maine’s statewide health information exchange. The HIE links medical information from separate health care sites to create a single electronic patient health record. This record is accessible to a patient’s authorized health care providers to support treatment. HealthInfoNet provides a secure, standardized electronic system where health care providers can share important patient information, giving them the tools they need to make more informed treatment decisions, especially in an emergency.

Ohio – CliniSync

OH-CliniSync-200CliniSync (@CliniSync) is a nonprofit, independent, private organization originally funded from HITECH and the ONC. The Ohio Health Information Partnership assisted providers in EHR adoption and the infrastructure for statewide HIE. It was named CliniSync, which signifies Clinical data synchronization.

Diameter Health and OHIP/CliniSync HIE to Present on Methods for Successful Clinical Data Integration – Diameter Health, a clinical data integration company, announced that its President and Chief Strategy Officer, John D’Amore, will co-present alongside Adam Rossbach, Chief Technical Strategist from the Ohio Health Information Partnership (OHIP)/CliniSync HIE, in a webinar titled, “Strategies for Successful Data Integration.” The webinar will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Wisconsin Statewide Health Information Network (WISHIN)

wi-shin-twitterIn October 2010 Wisconsin officially announced its intention to designate WISHIN (@WISHIN_Pulse), a not-for-profit organization formed by the Wisconsin Hospital Association, Wisconsin Medical Society, Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality, and Wisconsin Health Information Organization, as the State-designated entity to govern statewide HIE. DE on October 25, 2010. WISHIN is responsible for implementing Wisconsin’s Strategic and Operational Plan. The plan requires multi-stakeholder collaboration and emphasizes ongoing development of government and policy structures.

Georgia Health Information Network (GaHIN)

Georgia Health Information Network (@GeorgiaHIE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a healthier Georgia by facilitating the use and secure exchange of electronic health information so providers have the information they need at the point of care. GaHIN’s two products, GeorgiaDirect and Georgia ConnectedCare, connect providers statewide and nationally and are free for credentialed, authorized Georgia users.

Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN)

MI-MiHIN-200The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (@MiHIN) is Michigan’s initiative to continuously improve health care quality, efficiency, and patient safety by promoting secure, electronic exchange of health information through the MiHIN Health Information Services Cloud (HISC). MiHIN represents a growing network of public and private organizations working to overcome data sharing barriers, reduce costs, and ultimately advance the health of Michigan’s population.

Onboarding Coordinator Position Open – MiHIN is looking for an Onboarding Coordinator to join our Production and Operations Department. The Onboarding Coordinator is an integral member of the MiHIN team, facilitating the process of organizations joining (or “onboarding with”) MiHIN’s network for sharing health information electronically.

Michigan – Great Lakes Health Connect (GLHC)

Great Lakes Health Connect (@GLHC_HIE) is one of the largest and most successful Health Information Exchanges in the country and is growing rapidly. GLHC is committed to creating care-connected communities across Michigan. Their vision is to enhance patient experience, improve health outcomes, and reduce costs across the continuum of care.

Utah Health Information Network (UHIN)

UT-UHIN-200UHIN (@UHIN_HIE) has been in operation since 1993 beginning as a claims “post office.” Today it also operates the Clinical Health Information Exchange (cHIE), which empowers doctors and patients to work together for safer, better-coordinated care by making crucial information available to doctors at the point of care.

Texas – Healthcare Access San Antonio (HASA)

KS-KHINKHIN (@khininfo) capitalizes on the unique strengths that local communities and regions bring to the HIE and ensure that individual regions or communities have the decision-making authority to address local or regional health-care initiatives.
