State Health Information Exchanges (HIE) come in all shapes and sizes but have one thing in common: To improve the quality, safety and efficiency of health care delivered in their states. California – Manifest Medex (MX)

Manifest MedEx is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health information exchanges (HIEs), combining 11.7 million claims records from Blue Shield of California and Anthem Blue Cross and 5 million clinical patient records from 150 participating partners. Manifest MedEx supports physicians, nurses, hospitals and health plans in sharing critical health information to ensure that patients receive the safest, highest-quality care possible. The California Integrated Data Exchange and Inland Empire Health Information Exchange merged to create Manifest Medex.

Three California Leaders Join Manifest MedEx Board of Directors To Guide Growth of Nonprofit Network Currently Reaching 24 Million Californians – Manifest MedEx is committed to helping California improve care, enhance health, and reduce costs through health information sharing. To support these goals, MX has appointed three new leaders to its board of directors, expanding the board to eight members. Leigh Hutchins from NAMM California and PrimeCare, Abner Mason from ConsejoSano, and Deven McGraw from Ciitizen joined the MX board in October 2020. All three are seasoned executives who bring diversity of experience and expertise to the board, including on health privacy, health equity, and small practice needs.

Arizona – Health Current

Health Current (@AZHealthCurrent), is a partner that gives providers the information they need to make better clinical decisions and keep people healthy. The HIE believes more complete information is more meaningful. It makes healthcare transformation possible. And Health Current is central to this progress, integrating information technology and care delivery to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.

Health Share Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania (HSX)

PA-HSX-200HealthShare Exchange (@HealthShareExch) is the greater Philadelphia region’s health information exchange for the five-county Southeastern Pennsylvania region. HSX is a unique, membership-dues-supported nonprofit formed by the Delaware Valley’s hospitals/health systems and healthcare insurers that links the electronic medical record systems of different hospital health systems, medical centers, and clinics — and the claims data of healthcare insurers — to make this information accessible at inpatient and outpatient points of care, including medical practice offices.

HealthShare Exchange Adds CareAlign as a MarketStreet Partner – HSX announced that it is integrating the CareAlign (formerly TrekIT) technology into the HSX MarketStreet platform. The integration of CareAlign into the MarketStreet platform combines the power of data and technology within a single mobile application that gives providers a way to effectively use data across the patient continuum of care.

Wisconsin Statewide Health Information Network (WISHIN)

wi-shin-twitterIn October 2010 Wisconsin officially announced its intention to designate WISHIN (@WISHIN_Pulse), a not-for-profit organization formed by the Wisconsin Hospital Association, Wisconsin Medical Society, Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality, and Wisconsin Health Information Organization, as the State-designated entity to govern statewide HIE. WISHIN is responsible for implementing Wisconsin’s Strategic and Operational Plan. The plan requires multi-stakeholder collaboration and emphasizes ongoing development of government and policy structures.

New York -Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY)

NY-SHINY-200The SHIN-NY is the only HIE that provides universal access regardless of network or EHR system. New York State has made a significant investment in the SHIN-NY and in 2016 they set a goal of connecting 100% of the PPS across the state to the SHIN-NY. The eight RHIOs that make up the SHIN-NY are working directly with the PPS organizations to meet their needs.

HEALTHeLINK Achieves NCQA Data Aggregator Validation Status – HEALTHeLINK (@healthelink) announced it is among the first health information exchanges (HIEs) in the country to participate in the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Data Aggregator Validation program. Having recently completed a pilot program along with two other New York State HIEs, HEALTHeLINK earned one year of Validation status which means it has the ability to share validated sources for standard supplemental data for use in measurement year 2020 HEDIS® (Healthcare Effectiveness Data Information Set) reporting.

NYLEADs Initiative powered by Healthix Data is Live – To address the infectious spread, New York State Department of Health and Healthix (@healthix) are working collaboratively with an industry partner, Infectious Disease Connect Inc, to deliver a sustainable and flexible reporting, tracking and surveillance system for AR and other infections, that can later be applied across healthcare facilities in New York State.

National & Regional Experts Reveal Strengths and Struggles at Finger Lakes Health Data Conference – Rochester RHIO (@RochesterRHIO) event draws public health, research and business leaders.

Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN)

The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (@MiHIN) is Michigan’s initiative to continuously improve health care quality, efficiency, and patient safety by promoting secure, electronic exchange of health information through the MiHIN Health Information Services Cloud (HISC). MiHIN represents a growing network of public and private organizations working to overcome data sharing barriers, reduce costs, and ultimately advance the health of Michigan’s population.

Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services Named Internship Employer of the Year – MiHIN has been named Internship Employer of the Year by the Grand Valley State University’s (GVSU) Professional Science Master’s (PSM) Program.

Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services Announces Virtual Event Series for 2021 – ANN ARBOR, Mich. — MiHIN announced a re-envisioned virtual event series for 2021. The event series, Connecting Michigan for Health and More, spans from March to November and will include five virtual events, including a combination of full-day conferences and half-day workshops, which aim to bring together leaders in healthcare, legal policy, interoperability, and more.

Utah Health Information Network (UHIN)

UHIN (@UHIN_HIE) has been in operation since 1993 beginning as a claims “post office.” Today it also operates the Clinical Health Information Exchange (cHIE), which empowers doctors and patients to work together for safer, better-coordinated care by making crucial information available to doctors at the point of care.

Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services

LANES (@LANES_HIE) is an independent, non-profit organization developing a health information exchange (HIE) for all hospitals, clinics, and health plans that provide care to L.A. County residents. LANES seeks to make patients health information available safely and securely, when and where it is needed to enable better clinical care and care coordination.

 

LANES, Fulgent Genetics and LA County Department of Health Services Collaborate to Fast-Track COVID-19 Test Results to Local Healthcare Providers – LANES and The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) announced their copartnership with Fulgent Genetics Inc. (NASDAQ:FLGT) to support the data exchange of coronavirus tests performed at nearly 20 local drive-thru, walk up and community clinic testing sites. As COVID-19 infections hit record levels in LA County, access to the most relevant test data is essential for healthcare providers to inform patient care decisions.

Idaho Health Data Exchange (IDHE)
The Idaho Health Data Exchange (@idahohde), a non-profit 501(c)(3) company, is Idaho’s statewide Health Information Exchange, dedicated to meeting the needs of healthcare providers and ensuring that Idaho’s citizens receive the most effective health services possible. To achieve these goals, IHDE is working with a wide-array of stakeholders and actively building a best in breed technology infrastructure to provide access to reliable data and information, combining traditional healthcare data with other data sources to help address the medical, behavioral, and social needs that influence the well-being of Idahoans.

Connect America Partners with Idaho Health Data Exchange to Deliver Telehealth Solutions to Patients Statewide – Connect America, a national provider of comprehensive telehealth and remote patient monitoring solutions, announced its partnership recently with IHDE. The integration between Connect America’s remote patient monitoring (RPM) platform and IHDE will help increase remote access to essential healthcare services while improving safety and health outcomes for patients statewide.
