Arizona – Health Current

Wisconsin Statewide Health Information Network (WISHIN)

wi-shin-twitterIn October 2010 Wisconsin officially announced its intention to designate WISHIN (@WISHIN_Pulse), a not-for-profit organization formed by the Wisconsin Hospital Association, Wisconsin Medical Society, Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality, and Wisconsin Health Information Organization, as the State-designated entity to govern statewide HIE. DE on October 25, 2010. WISHIN is responsible for implementing Wisconsin’s Strategic and Operational Plan. The plan requires multi-stakeholder collaboration and emphasizes ongoing development of government and policy structures.

New York -Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY)

NY-SHINY-200The SHIN-NY is the only HIE that provides universal access regardless of network or EHR system. New York State has made a significant investment in the SHIN-NY and in 2016 they set a goal of connecting 100% of the PPS across the state to the SHIN-NY. The eight RHIOs that make up the SHIN-NY are working directly with the PPS organizations to meet their needs.

Hixny Adds Two Connections in November – Hixny (@Hixny) connected two organizations to the community-wide health information exchange (HIE) in November, further expanding the availability of patient records to the statewide healthcare community and to individual healthcare consumers.

$1 Million from New York Helps Health Care Providers Connect to Rochester RHIO, Improving Electronic Records and Care – More than $1 million in New York State grants have helped 94 Rochester-area health care organizations securely connect to provide patient health records to Rochester RHIO (@RochesterRHIO). Through the Data Exchange Incentive Program (DEIP) started in 2017, RHIO has expanded its data sources to include groups such as skilled nursing facilities and diagnostic treatment centers.

Georgia Health Information Network (GaHIN)

Georgia Health Information Network (@GeorgiaHIE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a healthier Georgia by facilitating the use and secure exchange of electronic health information so providers have the information they need at the point of care. GaHIN’s two products, GeorgiaDirect and Georgia ConnectedCare, connect providers statewide and nationally and are free for credentialed, authorized Georgia users.

Georgia Health Information Network (GaHIN) Awards $500,000 in Grants in 2019 – Georgia Health Information Network awarded a total of $500,000 to its members in 2019 to accelerate technology adoption and the electronic exchange of health information. Since the Intermediary Program’s inception five years ago, 330 providers have received grants totaling $3.3 million.

Colorado Regional Health Information Exchange (CORHIO)

CORHIO200CORHIO (@CORHIO) manages one of the country’s largest and most successful health information exchange networks and works to improve healthcare through the use of information technology and data exchange.

Mayfair Internal Medicine Improves Patient Care, Reimbursements with CORHIO Notifications – In part to help with their participation in an advanced payment model (APM), Mayfair set out to improve care coordination by receiving alerts when their patients were admitted to the emergency department or hospital. In less than a year since implementing CORHIO Notifications, Mayfair has already begun to see an overall decrease in alerts. This decrease can be attributed to the practice’s care coordination efforts.

Michigan – Great Lakes Health Connect (GLHC)

Great Lakes Health Connect (@GLHC_HIE) is one of the largest and most successful Health Information Exchanges in the country and is growing rapidly. GLHC is committed to creating care-connected communities across Michigan. Their vision is to enhance patient experience, improve health outcomes, and reduce costs across the continuum of care.

Big ideas from big names in Health IT – Organizations, departments, teams, and individuals must create and exude a culture that rewards creativity, excellence, and flexibility. In addition, we as healthcare professionals must embrace those we seek to serve, not just as patients, but as equal and engaged partners in care delivery. By connecting these cultures of care, we can achieve a fully sustainable and integrated healthcare ecosystem. Each of the 2019 Summit Series keynote speakers provided their unique perspectives on these dynamic relationships, and provided insight into how we all can work toward creating care connected communities!

Missouri – Missouri Health Connect (MHC)

MO-HC_twitterMissouri Health Connect (@HealthConnectMO), a non‐profit organization, is the state‐designated HIE organization that provides a secure and private electronic platform for sharing health information.

Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE)

IHIE-200Indiana Health Information Exchange (@IndianaHIE) operates the nation’s largest health information exchange, providing a secure, robust and interoperable health information technology network that connects over 150 hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, community health clinics and other healthcare providers.

HealthData Answers reported earlier this week that Indiana Health Information Exchange and Michiana Health Information Network (MHIN) (@MHINute), two pioneering health information exchanges (HIEs) in the nation, will consolidate their services and operations to unify HIE services for the state of Indiana. IHIE and MHIN have signed an agreement to consolidate on January 1, 2020.
