Buffet Opines Haven Can’t Guarantee Improvement In US Health Care
Billionaire Warren Buffet of Berkshire Hathaway declared that he cannot guarantee that the latest joint venture between JP Morgan, Amazon and his own firm that is seeking to improve healthcare system in United States will be successful in its goal soon. During an interview early this week he stated the venture Haven Health is growing at a steady pace in terms of employee strength, business partners and other details and needs just the right kind of push to make it more efficient. The not-for-profit venture was created last week in collaboration with Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway and J. P. Morgan.
UnitedHealthcare Awarding $1 Million to Memphis-Area Nonprofits to Help Address Social Determinants of Health

Centene Corporation Announces Appointments of Ken Burdick and Drew Asher to Executive Team of Combined Company Following Close of WellCare Transaction
Centene Corporation (@Centene) announced that upon completion of the pending combination with WellCare Health Plans, Inc., Ken Burdick, currently Chief Executive Officer of WellCare, and Drew Asher, currently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of WellCare, will join Centene in executive leadership positions. Mr. Burdick and Mr. Asher will report directly to Michael F. Neidorff, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Centene. Mr. Burdick’s employment agreement is for a two-year term.

A Creative Collaboration; The United Way and Aetna Launch Venture Fund
The United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, in collaboration with Aetna (@aetna), held the first-ever Venture Fund competition. The “Shark Tank” style pitch event was held in Boston on May 22, 2019, with a focus on seeding new, innovative and collaborative solutions to further the finalist organization’s social missions.
Cigna Collaboration Helps Santa Clara County IPA (SCCIPA) Improve Quality and Lower Costs
The latest results from a collaboration between Cigna (@cigna) and Santa Clara County IPA (SCCIPA) show that the program continues to drive better health care quality for nearly 18,000 Silicon Valley residents while achieving significantly better affordability.

CEO Mario Schlosser Awarded Prestigious 2019 Seoul Test of Time Award
The International World Wide Web Conference Committee (IW3C2) announced that the 2019 Seoul Test of Time Award will be presented to the authors of the paper “The EigenTrust Algorithm for Reputation Management in P2P Networks”; Mario Schlosser ( Co-founder and CEO, Oscar), Sepandar D. Kamvar (Founder, Mosaic Building Group Inc and Celo), and Héctor Garcia-Molina (Professor, Stanford University). The award will be presented during the opening ceremony of the 28th International conference in the Web Conference series on May 15, in San Francisco.
