Navicure Selected by CMS for ICD-10 End-to-End Testing

NavicureNavicure announced it has been selected for ICD-10 “end-to-end” testing with eight Medicare payers during the week of January 26-30, 2015. The opportunity will allow participating physician practices to remedy potential problem areas before ICD-10 is implemented on October 1, 2015.

Testing will enable Navicure clients to demonstrate that they are able to successfully submit claims containing ICD-10 codes to Medicare Fee-For-Service claims systems through adjudication and ensure accurate Remittance Advices (RA) are produced. Navicure is currently recruiting clients to participate in the testing efforts with Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) and the Common Electronic Data Interchange (CEDI) contractor.

Testing will take place with the following eight Medicare payers:

  • Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carriers (DMERC)
  • Florida Medicare
  • Indiana Medicare
  • New Jersey Medicare
  • North Carolina Medicare
  • Ohio Medicare
  • Railroad Medicare and DME
  • Washington Medicare

“Just as with the 5010 transition, we have been focused on making sure Navicure is ahead of the curve on every aspect of ICD-10 preparations from technology to education,” said Jim Denny, founder and CEO of Navicure. “Not only have our systems been ready for end-to-end testing since June 2013, but we will continue to provide clients with the exceptional customer service, tools and educational resources they deserve and expect. Our clients experienced minimal disruption during 5010, and we are working with clients, vendors and payers to ensure the ICD-10 transition is equally successful.”

The ICD-10 code set will have 54,000 more codes than ICD-9, and these codes will require more clinical documentation, detail and specificity. Early preparation efforts are critical to success because the transition will affect all administrative and clinical areas of physician practices, including productivity and cash flow. In addition helping clients with to end-to-end testing, Navicure will provide ICD-10-related tools and continue to create and provide new educational resources on its ICD-10 Hub to support the industry through the transition process.
