Leidos Names Dr. Donald Kosiak Chief Medical Officer
Leidos (@leidosinc), a health, national security, and engineering solutions company, announced the appointment of Donald Kosiak Jr., MD as Chief Medical Officer, effective February 8. In his new role, Dr. Kosiak will be responsible for providing clinical subject matter expertise and perspective, knowledge, experience, leadership and direction to ensure collaboration and alignment to business strategy across the Health Solution Group and entire Leidos organization. He will also provide clinical domain support in the pursuit of new market and business development activities, strategic business initiatives, and new product/solution development.
Dr. Vindell Washington, ONC’s New Principal Deputy National Coordinator

Dr. Washington most recently served as the President of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) Medical Group and as the health system’s Chief Medical Information Officer. FMOLHS, headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, provides care to 40 percent of Louisiana’s population. At FMOLHS, Dr. Washington led over 500 physicians, advanced practitioners and 1,400 employees in more than 70 care locations, with a focus on transforming ambulatory care delivery models. Under Dr. Washington’s leadership as senior accountable executive for IT, the health system was an early adopter of technology, including the integration of medical device information into the electronic health record and the widespread deployment of clinical decision support within the provider documentation workflow.

Health Care Administrators Association (HCAA) Announces its New Vice President for 2016
The Health Care Administrators Association (HCAA) (@HCAAinfo), a leader in advocacy, education and networking for the self-funding industry, announced Steve Rasnick, a seasoned TPA veteran with more than 35 years’ experience in the private insurance sector as its new Vice President. Currently President of Self Insured Plans, LLC, Rasnick has been appointed to this new role by the 2015-2016 Board of Directors, and will be responsible for strategic planning and leadership, as well as contributing to the future growth of the association.
Hal Andrews Appointed President of New Business Unit at Digital Reasoning
Digital Reasoning (@dreasoning), a cognitive computing technology company, announced it has acquired Shareable, a Nashville-based health care technology provider which offers a mobile clinical documentation platform. As part of the acquisition, Hal Andrews, the CEO of Shareable, will now serve as president of Digital Reasoning’s health care business.

WEDI Announces Charles W. Stellar as Interim President and CEO
WEDI (@WEDIonline), the nation’s leading authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange, announced that Charles W. Stellar, an executive leader with more than 35 years of experience in healthcare, association management and organizational leadership, has been named by the WEDI Board of Directors as WEDI’s interim president and CEO after the resignation of Devin Jopp, Ed.D. In this role, Stellar will be responsible for strategic leadership and guidance of the organization, its staff and committees until a more-permanent replacement is named.
HIMSS Executive Vice President Carla Smith to Chair Global Center Advisory Council
Carla Smith, Executive Vice President, HIMSS (@HIMSS), has been named chair of the Global Center for Health Innovation Executive Advisory Council as announced by Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish. Smith heads up the North American business unit for HIMSS, a 64,000-member global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information technology (IT) and one of the nation’s largest healthcare associations. A charter Global Center partner, the HIMSS Innovation Center opened in 2013 and occupies the 30,000 square foot fourth floor of the facility.
