Welcome to Connecting Michigan for Health 2015, Michigan’s annual forum where healthcare thought leaders share perspectives on the current state and future of Health Information Technology (HIT) and Health Information Exchange (HIE), helping to advance collaboration and knowledge sharing across health organizations.

Leaders from around Michigan and guest leaders from other states join each other for this three-day event to learn about issues faced by HIT and HIE efforts, and to gain insight into current best practices and coming developments within the electronic health information sector that are aligning quality programs to improve health outcomes in the state of Michigan and beyond.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will provide opening remarks to kick off the event June 3, and Lt. Governor Brian Calley will return for a second year to provide opening remarks June 4. Following Governor Snyder, Director Nick Lyon of Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services will discuss the latest developments in Michigan’s efforts to improve healthcare through better information sharing. Major themes of this year’s event include consumer engagement, improved care delivery and payment reform.

Attendees will interact and network with influential health information technology professionals, clinicians, health care leaders and decision makers, and members of the state government.
