Attestation Deadline for 2012 Medicare EHR Incentive Program

For those Eligible Professionals (EPs) participating in the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program, 2012 would have been their first or second year of participation. First year participants will be reporting meaningful use for a 90 day period. Second year participants will be reporting for a one year period. Those reporting periods must have been completed by December 31, 2012. But either way those who participated in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program in 2012 must complete attestation for the 2012 program year by February 28, 2013. In order to be eligible to attest you must have completed your 2012 reporting period by December 31, 2012.

Remember also an EP must meet the Medicare billable services threshold for maximum incentive payments. EHR Incentive Payments are based on 75% of your total Medicare allowed charges submitted no later than two months after the end of the reporting calendar year.
